What’s the difference between the Mosquito Net and the Mesh?
Our Mosquito Net is designed mainly to block mosquitoes and flying insects. Because there may be small gaps between the net and track, it may not completely prevent lizards or cockroaches from entering, and strong wind may also affect the net.
Our Mesh is a much stronger solution, supporting approximately 60–80 kg. It provides protection against mosquitoes, lizards and cockroaches while also offering additional safety for homes with children and pets.
Are the blinds, net, or mesh waterproof?
The blinds and net are made from polyester and are water-resistant rather than fully waterproof. We do not recommend washing the blinds or net directly with water as repeated water exposure may affect the material over time.
The Mesh is made from nylon and is washable. Depending on the mesh system, the removable mesh panel can be detached for deeper cleaning.
Can rain pass through the net or mesh?
Yes. Rain can still pass through both the net and mesh.
Will the net or mesh prevent ants from entering?
No. Ants are small enough to pass through the fine openings in the material.
Can the Cat Mesh double as a Mosquito Net?
Yes. Our Cat Mesh also works as a mosquito barrier and can help prevent lizards from entering.
What colors are available?
- Blinds: 18 colours for both Day and Blackout options
- Net Frame: Black, Grey and White
- Mesh Frame: Black, Grey, White and Brown
- Net Fabric: Black
Will wind still pass through the blinds, net, or mesh?
Blinds block airflow and are best used while the windows are closed.
Both the net and mesh allow airflow to pass through while reducing the strength of the wind by approximately 30%.
Where are the materials sourced and manufactured?
Our materials are sourced mainly from Malaysia, while fabrication, modifications and replacements are handled in Singapore.
Cost
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept PayNow, GrabPay and Atome. Credit card payment is available at our showroom.
How much does a replacement cost?
Replacement pricing depends on the size of the window and the product involved. The exact replacement cost will be assessed based on your measurements.
As an example, a 32 sq ft blind at approximately S$20 per sq ft would be around S$640. A damaged blind replacement may be approximately S$200 plus S$50 delivery.
Is there a fee for grille or blind/curtain removal?
Yes. A S$50 removal fee applies per grille, blind or curtain for each area.
The minimum order is S$500 — does the rubbish chute mesh fall under this?
No. The Rubbish Chute Mesh is S$300 with installation included. Installation will be arranged once the product is ready.
Are you a GST-registered company?
Yes. Blindnet is GST-registered.
Installation
How is the frame installed?
During the site assessment, our team will first check whether the installation surface is suitable for drilling.
Where drilling is possible, the frame may be secured using tape, screws and silicone. If drilling is not suitable, the frame may instead be secured directly to the existing window frame.
Can you measure/install if it’s still under renovation?
Measurement can be carried out after you have collected your keys, provided that no window replacement or plastering work is still in progress.
Fabrication normally takes approximately 4–5 weeks, after which installation can be scheduled before your final handover cleaning.
Can the net or mesh be installed on a main door?
It may be possible depending on the door design. Main doors with handles or digital locks may not be suitable.
You can send us photos of your existing setup and our team can advise you accordingly.
What is the production and installation lead time?
Once the estimated pricing is suitable for your budget, provide us with your full name and address so that we can arrange an on-site measurement.
After the invoice is issued and the 50% deposit is received, fabrication normally takes approximately 4–5 weeks.
Once your product is ready, our team will contact you to schedule installation.
Can you install blinds or mesh over existing grilles?
This depends on the amount of space between the existing window and grille. You may send us photos of the gap for assessment.
For customers who would like to keep their existing grille while adding protection for cats, mesh may be installed over the grille in some situations.
Is it possible to install the blinds, net, or mesh if I already have existing blinds or curtains?
We will first check the available installation clearance. Generally, approximately 40mm of space is required for blinds and net, while approximately 50mm is required for mesh.
For casement or swing-out windows, the window handle must also be checked. If the handle protrudes into the installation area, an additional double frame may be required to provide sufficient clearance.
Is it possible to have a grille and the blinds, net, or mesh?
Yes. One possible setup is to install an invisible grille with full framing first, followed by the Blindnet blind, net or mesh system.
We work with invisible grille partners who can manufacture the grille for this type of installation.
Can I install both blinds and mesh on the same window?
Yes. Our Mesh and V2 blinds use compatible tracking systems, making it possible to install both on the same window.
Honeycomb uses a different tracking system. If you would like Honeycomb together with Mesh, the Honeycomb will normally be installed first, followed by the Mesh.
The Mesh roller can be dismantled when required for easier cleaning.
View Mesh Cleaning Instructions →Do sliding windows require double frames?
Sliding windows generally do not require a double frame. However, if your window has a protruding handle or another obstruction within the installation area, additional clearance may still be required.
View our Double Frame Guide →Can the grille be reinstalled after blind/mesh installation?
No. Once the blind or mesh system has been installed, the grille cannot be reattached in the same position.
Maintenance
How should I clean the blinds, net, or mesh?
For blinds and mosquito net, regular dust removal can be done using a vacuum on a gentle setting, lint roller or soft cleaning brush. Avoid washing these materials directly with water.
For Mesh, loose dust can be removed using a soft cloth, soft brush or low-powered vacuum.
For deeper cleaning, the removable Mesh can be gently rinsed with clean water or wiped with a soft damp cloth. Mild soap may be used when necessary. Allow both the mesh and frame to dry naturally before reinstalling.
Will the frame rust if installed outdoors?
No. The aluminium frame is rust-resistant.
What are the blinds made of, and how long do they last?
The blinds are made from polyester and include an internal aluminium foil layer for heat resistance.
With proper use and maintenance, the expected lifespan can range from approximately 5 to 15 years depending on the material, environment and frequency of use.
How long is the warranty on the blinds, net, or mesh, and what does it cover?
The mechanism is covered by a 3-year warranty.
Our team will conduct a quality check after installation. Damage caused intentionally or externally, such as cutting the blind or net with a sharp object or burning the material, is not covered.
Our Mesh is designed to be scratch-resistant and suitable for homes with cats.
